Have you ever felt the urge to take your dining habits to new heights? Well now you can, as Events in the Sky is winging its way to Bristol in 2017…
Following huge success in London, where the first public UK event was launched in 2014, next year will see Events in the Sky visit five UK cities including Bristol, offering the public a once in a lifetime opportunity to dine in the sky.
Diners will need strong stomachs as the event will see Bristol restaurants transfer their menus and dining experiences to a unique sky table, suspended 100 feet in the air by a mobile crane. The table seats 22 guests with head chef, sommelier and waiting team serving from the pop-up kitchen in the centre of the table whilst in the sky. Guests are securely fastened in their seats before the table is raised 100 feet from the ground and their gourmet experience begins.
The restaurant will run from the 7th to 10th September 2017 at the Waterfront Square next to the Lloyds Amphitheatre, with each eatery serving a menu of signature dishes during the four-day festival. With 9 sittings per day, guests have the choice of breakfast (£50), lunch (£125), dinner (£150), afternoon drinks (£75) and evening drinks (£75) – and tickets are now on sale.
“Guests will enjoy a breathtaking dining experience with spectacular views of Bristol Harbour…”
Although the full restaurant line-up for Bristol in the Sky will be announced in February 2017, restaurants customers can whet their appetites with the prospect of the Harvey Nichols Restaurant taking the first leap, with Executive Chef Louise McCrimmon – Chef of the Year, Bristol Good Food Awards and two-time AA Rosette winner – at the helm.
Part of the global Dinner in the Sky Group, operating in 50 countries worldwide, Events in the Sky has been operating in the UK since 2009, creating customised event experiences for numerous corporates. Due to the demand to dine in the sky, public events are now offered in major cities around the world including Los Angeles, Saint-Tropez, Kuala Lumpur, Brussels and Rome to name a few.
Dale Agar of Events in the Sky says of the event: ‘With the success of London in the Sky, we’re looking forward to visiting Bristol in 2017 to recreate this converted event partnering with Bristol’s best chefs and restaurants. Guests will enjoy a breathtaking dining experience with spectacular views of Bristol Harbour.’
