The curriculum: The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum through to A-Level. As an academy with a language specialism, Colston’s Girls’ School is able to select ten per cent of its pupils on the basis of their aptitude for languages on admission. Eight languages are available: Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, German, French, Latin, Italian and Japanese. The school has a very strong academic record, focusing on developing its core values of resilience, responsibility, curiosity and respect.
Extra-curricular activities: An extensive range of extra-curricular activities take place inside and outside the school, including music, sport, art and drama. Public speaking and charitable activities are encouraged, along with regular extended excursions and trips. A specific enrichment programme has been designed for the school’s sixth formers, many of whom go on to attend one of the coveted Russell Group universities.
