After watching the trailers avidly, we can hardly contain our excitement… David Attenborough will be coming to Bristol for an exclusive premiere of Planet Earth II

The premiere will feature an exclusive screening of the first episode of Planet Earth II, ‘Islands’, as well as a conversation between The One Show’s Miranda Krestovnikoff, Sir David Attenborough and members of the Planet Earth II production team: executive producer Mike Gunton, series producer Tom Hugh-Jones and ‘Islands’ producer Elizabeth White.

Julian Hector, newly appointed Head of the BBC’s world famous Natural History Unit, will host the event.  “Bristol has been the global home of Natural History programme making for almost 60 years, so it’s perfect to host the national premiere of Planet Earth II“, he said. “Fans will get the chance to see this much anticipated landmark programme ahead of its debut on BBC One along with one of Bristol’s best loved treasures, Sir David Attenborough.”

The BBC will welcome Sir David Attenborough to the screening at Cinema De Lux, Cabot Circus, Bristol and is giving Planet Earth fans the chance to be part of this very special opportunity to see footage ahead of its transmission on BBC One.

Attenborough, whose name is now synonymous with wildlife filmmaking, has become a national treasure since the release of his first programme in 1952. Ten years after the release of Planet Earth, the hotly anticipated sequel promises to reveal our planet from a completely new perspective, using significant advances in both filming technology and our understanding of the natural world. Travelling through jungles, deserts, mountains, islands, grasslands and cities, the series explores the unique characteristics of Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them.

Tickets are available through a draw, which will be open from Monday 17 to Friday 21 October. Sign up quickly as there are only 200 spaces available!

Fans can register for free tickets to the screening through the BBC Shows and Tours website.

The event starts at 7pm, with registration from 6pm, Wednesday 2 November. Full terms and conditions can be found on the BBC Shows and Tours website.
