Team Love & Crosstown Concerts have announced Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Paul Weller as this year’s headliners at The Downs Bristol

The one-day festival returns on Saturday 1 September with a pretty stellar line-up also featuring Basement Jaxx, Orbital and Goldie & The Ensemble as well as local heroes The Heavy, Houston trio Khruangbin, Nadine Shah and Dream Wife.

The Avon stage will be headlined by a live set from electronic legends Orbital and will also see performances from producer/DJ Goldie and the Heritage Ensemble, Basement Jaxx, Channel One reggae soundsystem and Laid Blak.

Discussion and debate has been a key part of The Downs Bristol since its inception three years ago and once again festival goers can look forward to The Information Stage, a space where key note speakers address issues affecting UK society. Previous years have featured panels and esteemed spoken word performers and, last year, film director Ken Loach. This stage will also feature live music in the evening for the first time, with the line-up to be revealed very soon.

“2017 was a great year for the festival and our 2018 line-up features some of the best live acts around,” said Conal Dodds, co-founder of co-promoters Crosstown Concerts. “We know there’ll be a huge amount of interest in seeing Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller live in Bristol. Noel has never headlined a show in Bristol so we are really excited to bring him and his band to the city and I think we’ve got the best line up we’ve had so far at The Downs.”

Tickets will be on sale from 2 March, with first tickets, priced £49.50, available from 8am at Bristol Ticket Shop (Broadmead) and The Love Inn (Stokes Croft), and on general release at 9am via,, and

Noel’s latest album Who Built The Moon was released late last year and we think it’s pretty great…
