Historic Bristol glass maker, Bristol Blue Glass, teamed up with The Ivy Clifton Brasserie recently for a unique collaboration to mark Father’s Day, giving visitors to the bar and restaurant the chance to purchase a set of hand-crafted tumblers and enjoy a cocktail from Chivas Regal in one of them.

The tumbler, branded with the Ivy leaf and Chivas emblem, was designed to showcase the familiar rich blue of the world-famous glassmaker as well as the ‘Bristol Blue Sour’ cocktail, a twist on the traditional Whisky Sour, designed by The Ivy Clifton Brasserie team. The cocktail combines Chivas Regal 18-year-old scotch whisky, orange juice, Amaro Averna liquor, fresh lemon, egg white, maple syrup and bitters – a drink fit for all doting dads. The cocktail and glass are both still available to purchase in the restaurant until Saturday 30 June.

“When the team at The Ivy Clifton Brasserie got in touch, we jumped at the chance to create something to celebrate Father’s Day,” said Sharon Crapanzano, manager at Bristol Blue Glass. “To begin with we all discussed the concept and took options to The Ivy Clifton Brasserie before a design was settled upon using our world-famous ‘Bristol Blue’ colour. This was then taken to our production team who blew the glasses ‘freehand’.”

The Ivy Clifton Brasserie GM, Adam Wilson, added: “As we approach our second anniversary in the city, working with an iconic local business has been incredibly exciting. We know our bar staff have really enjoyed putting together the Bristol Blue Sour cocktail so hope our guests enjoy it as much as we do!”

The tumblers are priced at £50 a pair.
