John Lewis of Hungerford designs, manufactures and installs exquisite hand-made, painted kitchens, bedrooms and furniture.

The team have been designing and crafting beautiful painted kitchens and furniture since 1972, with their fitted wardrobe collection following in more recent years.

With such a passion for great design, each kitchen and bedroom is individually designed and built – allowing each customer to have something original in their home.

All the cabinetry is made in the company’s Oxfordshire factory and everything used to make the luxury painted kitchens and bedrooms is selected with great care, sourcing only timber and material which comply with the highest forestry and sustainable standards.Quality workmanship is the key to a long-lasting product. That’s why the team take such great care when building each cabinet. They use a combination of traditional and modern techniques and select only materials best suited to making each part.

In 1992 John Lewis created its signature artisan kitchen. Its traditional and elegantly plain English style works perfectly in a range of homes, from a country kitchen to a Georgian town house. Since then, John Lewis of Hungerford has opened 13 showrooms around the country and has added four new styles of kitchen along with bedrooms and furniture to their portfolio.

Other kitchen and bedrooms styles include:

Classic, beautiful simplicity with a timeless appeal. The Shaker kitchen is one of the most popular styles. Shaker style kitchens are the perfect canvas for pantry cupboards and tall appliance combinations, common in traditional kitchens. A wide range of finishes and colours allow their designers to create complete diversity throughout this kitchen design.

A truly versatile design with beautifully smooth finished cabinetry and understated slim handles, this range is perfect for any modern interior and is available as in-frame or lay-on.

The ultra-sleek handleless range unites modern, minimalist kitchen style with a mid-century feel. This chic, simple kitchen design will create a fresh ambience in any home, with a painted or wooden kitchen trim.

Soft closing handless doors and drawers create a fresh and effortless look, with clever gullwing style doors in the wall units allow for easy access to the interiors. Pure kitchens can be finished in a single solid colour throughout and there is the option to have a visible wood trim, available in walnut or oak. The matte finish of these kitchen cabinets adds to the sense of serenity.

Crème de la Crème

Inspired by the famous English Rose kitchen of the 1950s, the Crème de la Crème kitchen is a design classic with a vintage feel. Especially designed for the practicalities of the modern lifestyle, which demand far more from our kitchens than the original English Rose can offer, these retro kitchens are made from durable material and allow for integrated appliances. This unique kitchen features the classic curved design with bold colours, glossy surfaces and chrome accents that you would find on the original 1950s product. A real show-off kitchen that will transform your room into a vibrant space, bursting with energy.

John Lewis of Hungerford is a specialist when it comes to colour.
