Then There’s Us by Raw Alchemy Theatre Company tells the story of a young gay couple as they attempt to discover who they really are. Finding comfort in each other when the rest of the world appears to be against them. But everything isn’t always as it first appears…

Written by Stephen Moyse and Carli Green, Then There’s Us combines truthful characters, high energy movement and original music to provide 75 minutes of captivating theatre that effectively connects with a wide range of audiences.

After losing his mum at the age of four, Jacob has spent his entire life feeling lost and confused about his sexuality with only his ‘alpha male’ Dad around him. That was until he met Kyle, a good looking, already ‘out of the closet’, Londoner who joined his school just over 2 years ago and changed everything. As we join the piece, Kyle and Jacob have been dating in secret for a number of months, dealing with the daily challenges of teenage life while also dealing with something much bigger…Jacob has yet to ‘come out’.

‘Then there’s us’ explores the varied views different generations have regarding homosexuality, and the impact this has on a young gay couple. With their identity-defining teenage years ending far too soon, accepting who they really are is not as easy as it seems.

Then There’s Us is at The Alma Tavern Theatre from 8 – 10 September
