The curriculum: Clifton High School’s Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum places a strong emphasis on exploration, investigation, discovery and problem solving complimented by pro-active Adventure, Sport and Co-Curricular Programmes. Transition into the Junior School is an approach that offers excellent academic teaching through a broad, pupil-centric, bespoke curriculum. Children benefit from lessons taught by specialist subject teachers including Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Drama and Physical Education. The Senior School’s excellent academic results are clear evidence of the incorporation of the successful Diamond Edge Model into our teaching methods which allows pupils to be
supported in their individual dynamic needs, teaching boys and girls separately in the core subjects of Mathematics, English and the Sciences during the key stages of Years 7, 8 and 9. GCSE results in 2024 saw over 57% of all grades awarded at Level 9 to 7 which was significantly above the national averages of 21.8%. Our Sixth Form’s exemplary A level curriculum offers twenty-seven subjects alongside a range of additional ancillary courses and the bespoke ‘Above and Beyond’ Programme. Results in 2024 saw an impressive 58% AB grades and 31% A-A.

Co-Curricular:  Clifton High School’s programme is a vital component to equip children with the necessary skills to have the optimum experience of an individualised education. The areas of co-curricular learning are gateways to life-long skills that offer clubs and societies, performance arts clubs, sports as well as charity and outreach programmes.

Pastoral care: The supremacy of wellbeing is reinforced by the School’s values of curiosity, empathy, love and direction to realise the worth of a holistic education. Staff grow to recognise each child’s gifts, providing them with a safety net to make mistakes and learn from a culture that is strengthened by a united community. The emphasis remains in continuing to offer a solid education with traditional values that maintain a nurturing approach to learning.

Outstanding characteristics: Steeped in history, Clifton High School’s traditions continue to be embraced as they adapt to a changing world. An all-through education is aligned with being all-rounded for children to flourish throughout the Year groups and thrive in their academic journey whilst being valued in their individual attributes. The School is built upon a reputation of achievement with its consistent small class sizes and a safe community that supports children in self-fulfilled futures.
