Event Details

Rossini composed the Petite messe solennelle in 1863, 34 years after writing his last opera, in Paris, where he spent the last decades of his life. Neither petite nor solemn and it has the unusual scoring for choir, 4 solists, 2 pianos and harmonium. It is ideally suited for the acoustics of Bristol Cathedral.
