Bristol School of Acting presents Machinal

Inspired by the real-life case of convicted and executed murderer Ruth Snyder, Sophie Treadwell’s Machinal premiered in 1928 and is widely considered one of the great plays of the 20th century.

From the outside, Helen and her husband have a happy marriage. But behind closed doors, Helen begins to question the choices she’s made and the devastating cost of freedom.

Set in modern-day Tennessee against the backdrop of today’s rise of the ‘tradwife’, this production asks if anything has really changed 100 years on.

Presented by graduating acting students of Bristol School of Acting.

Tickets from £15. Click here for more information & to book.
